ImageI would assert that I'm not your average guy regarding political endeavor, to say the least.

I'm a West Point grad and potentially a member of the establishment, but I detest falsehood and hypocrisy, and would be the perfect guy to have in a paralyzed two party Congress that continually fudges the truth and self-perpetuates by all manner of compromise and evasion.

I actually plan to be working ‘both sides of the aisle,’ in my hoped to be status as an Independent member of the US Senate, and believe there's nowhere a Member will be able to run or hide that we won't have the occasion to talk and negotiate.

Congress's problem, as I see it, has been one of paralysis, made so and/or moreso by the election of the so-called 'Tea Party' members of the Republican caucus two years ago.

I believe that many or most Tea Party members have 'meant well,' and probably had a good cause, with the notion of stopping all government spending that goes beyond current budgets, in addition to working to reduce those budgets. But politics and legislation is 'the art of compromise,' and 'Tea Partiers' have, with their fanatical dispositions, come close to destroying the Congress's ability to get legislation done, not to mention reducing the country's credit rating in the process thereof. I think with my personal background and experience, I can make a major difference in seeing negotiations and legislation crystallized, so we once again have the capability of 'getting something done,' inclusive of beginning to get our national spending under control, and reducing the national debt.

I have more 'stuff’ in my background than Carter (not Jimmy!) has Liver Pills.

I've been an Airborne, Ranger and Special Warfare trained infantry officer with many assignments, having served in both Korea and the States.

I've been an engineer working for Boeing, my father, and two Saudi American joint ventures.

I've been a tech writer, editor, trainer, mechanical engineering designer, draftsman, and aviation maintenance instructor.

I've been a ditch digger (for only one afternoon, I confess!), an unskilled laborer for a week, a kitchen cabinet maker, and electrical apprentice.

And I've been a secondary substitute school teacher, certified in math, physics, chemistry and bible with a level K-12 Florida Temporaty Teaching Certificate.

I've seen my fellow Americans rip off the Saudis for billions of dollars, to the best of my knowledge, on a project which I, along with many others, was subtantially not allowed to work, but was paid a large salary.

I've met and communicated with many political figures, both here in the States and around the world, and placed and had placed matters I've written in the White House 6 times, referred by the White House on to the National Security Council twice, sent directly to the NSC twice, referred by my former Congressman once, and forwarded to the top pertinent State Department Desk Officer by President George Herbert Walker Bush on yet another occasion.

The fifth and sixth occasions were somewhat more recent, in that I shared my thoughts with President 'W' Bush and his National Security Advisor, Stephen Hadley, regarding how the President could salvage something from both Iraq II, as well as from his Presidency, and in the process thereof possibly make some major breakthroughs in the Middle East. These two more recent letters to Mr. Bush are part of this site.

In the instance of the first letter, dated 24 November, 2006, I preceded the publishing of the Iraq Study Group (ISG) recommendations by 4-5 days, coming to the same major conclusions, else wise,'theirs with mine,' dependent upon your perspective!!

In my second recent letter to the President, dated 7 March, 2007, I preceded the Administration's commencement of negotiations with Iraq, Iran and Syria regarding the Iraq 'challenge,' advising Mr. Bush on 5 sets of negotiations he could have then momentarily pursued. Allowing for the note to me from General Petraeus shown on this site, and the Secretary of State's subsequent negotiations which are now a matter of history, my approach was largely or totally vindicated.

I speak semi-fluent Russian and Spanish, more than a smattering of French, and a small amount of German.

With our combination financial messes, global warming and terrorism challenges around the world, I believe we face some of the most serious times in the history of our beloved Repubic, and possibly the world at large, and would look forward to your personal and/or financial support to help me get to the US Senate where I sincerely believe I can be of assistance in helping get the Congress and our country back on track.

You can communicate with me through any of the means listed on my Contact Page.

Thanks kindly-

Bob Liebman for US Senate, 2012.
